| January 19, 2008 The team everyone hates It's an odd experience to be living in another part of the country and rooting for the New England Patriots. It seems t90% of the country is rooting for them to lose. Niall adopted the local team when we moved, but has said the Patriots are his "Number 2" team. But after talking with him the other day, I realized he's in the hater camp. Now he won't come out and say it, but you can tell a lot by body language. 20% of my own family is in the hater camp. What have I done wrong? How can this be corrected? |

| October 28, 2007 Youkilis and All is Not Lost So last night in the first inning, my "I like the Yankees son" asks "Is that Kevin Youkilis?" when David Ortiz (or Manny Ortiz if you are John Kerry) comes up to bat? And he actually pronounces Youkilis correctly, and says he is his favorite player since "he knows him". All is not lost. These late starts are killing me. If it weren't for Holliday's homer, Okajima would have been as good an MVP candidate as any. Why don't they ever mention him as a Rookie of the Year candidate? |
| October 26, 2007 Dustin or Jacoby? My daughter can't decide if her crush should be on Dustin Pedroia or Jacoby Ellsbury. I never expected to be alarmed that J.D. Drew might be out for the Red Sox. To think a month ago, I was lamenting signing him and wishing for Wily Mo Pena back. My hope is for the Red Sox vanquish the Rockies in 5. My biggest fear is playing David Ortiz in the field will hurt us at a critical moment. |
